This Privacy Policy explains how SenseUs (“SenseUs”, “we”, “us” or “our”) collects, uses, discloses and protects personal data when you use our website and mobile app (together, the “Service”). We process personal data in accordance with Singapore’s Personal Data Protection Act 2012 (“PDPA”).

1. Information we collect

We collect the following categories of personal data:

  • Account information: your email address and sign-in method (Google, Apple or email). Your profile consists of a display name and avatar that you choose.
  • Content you provide: questions, answers, comments, messages with your matches, feedback and reports.
  • Usage information: the questions you answer, skip or save, your settings, the features you use, and the link through which you first arrived at the Service.
  • Device information: a notification token if you enable notifications, device and browser details included with bug reports, and your IP address, which we store only in hashed form to prevent spam and abuse.

Some features, such as First Guess and answering shared questions, can be used without an account. Data you provide as a guest is stored under a guest identifier and is linked to your account if you later sign in.

2. How we use personal data

We use personal data to:

  • provide the Service, including results, matching, chat, notifications and your settings;
  • keep the Service safe, including filtering offensive language, handling reports and blocks, and limiting spam;
  • understand how the Service is used, generally in aggregate, so that we can improve it; and
  • respond to your enquiries and requests, including requests to delete your account.

3. Information visible to other users

Your display name and avatar are shown with your comments and questions, in the match pool if you join it, and to the people you match with. Results are shown only as totals. Your individual answers are not shown to other users, except alongside your own comments and in match reports with the people you match with.

4. Disclosure of personal data

We do not sell personal data, display advertising or share personal data for advertising, and we do not track you across other companies’ apps or websites. We disclose personal data only to service providers that process it on our behalf to operate the Service:

  • Hosting and infrastructure providers, for our website, servers, database, sign-in and notifications.
  • Google Analytics, which records how features are used and estimates your approximate location (such as your country) from your IP address.
  • AI providers (currently OpenAI and Google), for First Guess. They receive the text you enter in First Guess and answer totals from related questions, but not your name, email address or account details.
  • Google and Apple, if you choose to sign in with them.

We may also disclose personal data where required by law.

5. Retention

We keep personal data for as long as your account exists. If you ask to delete your account in Settings, we delete your account and the data linked to it, including your answers, questions, comments, matches and messages, within 7 days, and confirm by email. Copies in backups are deleted shortly afterwards. Google Analytics keeps event data for no longer than 14 months.

6. Your rights and choices

You may:

  • turn off notifications at any time in Settings or in your device settings;
  • change your display name and avatar in Settings;
  • delete your account in Settings; and
  • ask for access to or correction of your personal data, or withdraw your consent to its use, by emailing socialcensus.cnm@gmail.com. We aim to respond within 7 business days.

7. Age requirement

The Service is intended for people aged 16 and over. If we learn that a user is under 16, we delete the account.

8. Security

We protect personal data with reasonable administrative and technical safeguards, including collecting as little as we need, restricting access within our team, keeping our software up to date and reviewing our security regularly. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy, including when what we collect or who we share it with changes. The date at the top shows when it was last updated. Please read it together with our Terms of Use.
